Discovery Plot Soybeans Perform Well

The Discovery Plot soybean fields are harvested and the yield results are “better than expected, in my opinion,” said Kevin Carlson, Federated’s ag sales manager. Some of the plots were planted later and received very little rain. “Rain was pretty sparse in most of [Federated’s] area, though not all; it was inconsistent,” he said.
 
Frosts in the past couple of weeks “really helped even things out so harvest could take off,” he said, adding that “last year we didn’t have that.”
