DARLENE SMITH RETIRES FROM FEDERATED CO-OPS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Oct 29, 2019

Darlene Smith announced her retirement from the Board of Directors effective 10/24/19.  Darlene has served continuously as a director through mergers with Trico Oil & Propane and Federated Co-ops, Inc. for almost 34 years. Darlene realized that the co-op is very much in the business of serving those with whom we do business. She has been a tremendous asset to the coop and has always been focused on what is good for the patrons.

The California native moved to Minnesota in 1970 with her husband, McGregor native Ronald Smith, who then taught for 34 years in the McGregor School District. Darlene worked as the high school secretary prior to retirement. The entire family enjoys fishing and hunting, including whitetail deer and ducks. Darlene particularly likes hunting bear. In addition, Darlene has said, “I am truly blessed with two wonderful daughters and sons-in-law and six beautiful grandchildren.”

Her fellow board members and the employees will truly miss her insight and passion.
