Take Your Seed Soon

Ready to plant corn or soybean seed 2022
It’s time to pick up or have your seed delivered.

“All of a sudden, you will be ready to go,” said Ryan Gerth, Federated’s Ogilvie location, “and you will need your seed.” We want to have it there when you need it – so take it now.

Once things get busy, scheduling seed delivery gets complex: “We have a lot of places to go and a lot of units of seed [to deliver],” said Gerth.

Good communication helps the flow on both sides, from both the grower’s perspective and from Federated’s, in the effort to meet grower needs.

Gerth “gets it” –  farmyards are soft and muddy and taking deliveries is a challenge. Gerth, who also farms, said, “I know the farmyard is just firming up now. We haven’t been able to have a semi come in.” But as soon as the yard is passable, he will get his seed on site so it’s there when his planter hits the fields.

Federated’s goal is to get everyone their seed at the right time, Gerth noted. Your call to your Federated Agronomist now will help everyone achieve their goals for a smooth planting season.

The Ogilvie seed warehouse stores much of the seed but Federated has already shipped some of the seed to the various Federated locations.
