Have You Seen the Images?

Field imagery is revealing. It tells a story that casual observations and field walk-throughs can’t tell. “It can be a valuable tool to both farmers and agronomists,” said Karson Schoening, Federated ag sales rep at Ogilvie.

But it’s easy to wonder what a digital picture of a field really offers. According to Schoening:
  • You can see potential yield.
  • You can see current issues.
  • You can solve those issues prior to losing yield.

With the help of imagery, you can see problems in the field before you’ve even set a foot on the ground. “You don’t have to walk the entire field; you know where the issue is,” he said. And GPS pinpoints the location.

Additionally, “you can compare current imagery to previous yield data maps, soil type maps, and topography maps to learn more about each field,” he said. Field assessments become seamless.

Imagery also shows the benefits of using grid sampling on fields – employing precision ag tools and technology.

Federated Co-ops uses FieldAlytics® imaging technology for its precision ag services. Talk to your Federated Agronomist and ask to see the images for your fields. Then make plans to further apply the benefits of precision ag to your operation.
