Burndown Window Will Soon Be Closed

Corn plot harvest signals. near end of burndown options
Fall burndown is an excellent option to control weeds on no-till acres and on fields going into hay next spring. But as harvest continues, the window closes.

Matt Kurtz, location manager at Federated’s Rush City location, pointed out that “burndown herbicide applications can control many late-coming weeds”. It is also a good option to control some of the toughest weeds by “limiting the amount of viable [weed] seeds come spring.”

However, Kurtz cautioned, the window to use this weed-control method is closing fast as fall temps drop! Contact your Federated Agronomist with any questions about fall burndown, or to schedule quick applications.
