STAUNCH® II BUILDS A GOOD WEED CONTROL FOUNDATION

Apr 27, 2020

“Any good builder knows you have to have a good foundation,” said Tim Stelter, manager at Federated’s Osceola location, “and a good foundation for weed control requires something that is flexible – something that works.”

Staunch® II for pre-emerge or early post-emerge application is one of Federated’s recommended herbicides. “It’s great for resistance management,” Stelter said. Staunch II has three different sites of action (group 15, 2, and 4), and for those who can add atrazine (based on soil type), atrazine adds another site of action (group 5) to “make Staunch work that much better.”

Staunch II is “economically priced, and it’s great for a planned two-pass approach that comes back with glyphosate or another post-emerge product,” said Stelter.

Especially with atrazine, Staunch II “really helps with giant ragweed control.”

Staunch rates for most soil types are between 1.5 - 2.5 pts./ac., but always read and follow label directions.
