Plan Ahead with the 2027 Crop Input Finance Program
Sep 08, 2026
It’s wise to plan now for a successful 2027, and Federated makes it as easy as possible.
“As growers begin planning for the 2027 crop year, managing input costs and cash flow continues to be an important part of a successful operation,” said Kelly Meyer, Federated’s business service specialist. “To help make that process easier, we’re once again offering our Crop Input Finance Program in partnership with Cooperative Finance Association (CFA).”
The program provides growers with convenient financing options designed to help manage the upfront costs associated with crop inputs while providing flexibility throughout the growing season.
A Convenient Financing Option for Your Operation
“We understand the significant investment that goes into putting a crop in the ground,” Meyer said. “Our goal is to provide growers with financing options that can make managing those input dollars and cash flow a little easier.”
Two Financing Options for 2027
For the 2027 crop year, growers can choose between two programs:
Base Rate Program – 6.49% Variable Interest Rate
- The 6.49% variable rate is available through July 31, 2027. After that date, the rate changes to Prime + 1% variable. Loans are due March 15, 2028.
Power of One Program – 4.99% Variable Interest Rate
The Power of One Program offers a 4.99% variable interest rate through July 31, 2027. After that date, the rate changes to Prime + 1% variable. Loans are also due March 15, 2028.
The Power of One Program is designed for growers who purchase 100% of their fertilizer, crop protection, seed, and eligible energy products through Federated Co-ops, including bulk diesel, gas, and LP.
Why Consider Crop Input Financing?
The program offers several benefits for growers, including:
-
Credit lines up to $1 million with a convenient one-page application
-
A streamlined application and approval process
-
One-stop financing for input needs
-
The ability to lock in input costs and maximize income potential
-
Improved security of product supply
-
A confidential source of payment for inputs and services
-
A non-revolving line of credit designed around the producer’s needs
-
No penalty for early payment
The deadline to sign up for the 2027 program is June 30, 2027.
Already Have a CFA Loan? Evergreen Renewal to Make It Easier
Growers who already have an active CFA loan in 2026 may have the option to Evergreen Renew their loan for the 2027 crop year.
“An Evergreen Renewal allows an existing financing arrangement to continue into the next crop year,” Meyer said. “But without requiring the grower to complete a full new loan application each year, provided the borrower continues to meet CFA’s periodic review and credit requirements.”
This can make the financing process simpler and more convenient for returning growers, allowing them to continue utilizing their established CFA financing relationship while planning for the upcoming crop year.
Growers who currently have a CFA loan and are interested in Evergreen Renewal can contact Meyer at 763-260-3052 or kmeyer@federatedcoops.com to discuss options and determine whether the loan qualifies.
Whether you are a new participant or an existing CFA customer looking to Evergreen Renew your loan, we are here to help make the financing process as simple and convenient as possible.
If you are interested in learning more about the 2027 Crop Input Finance Program or would like to discuss which option may be right for your operation, Meyer looks forward to hearing from you.
Let’s grow together!
