Propane Programs

Talk to us about a propane service and supply program that works best for you. Our job on the is to offer programs to help you avoid price spikes and uncomfortable market movements.

Some details include:

One price – no hidden fees for delivery, credit card usage or anything else.
You can choose a paperless option – order online and make payments online.
Summer-fill option – often the lowest price of the season.
Lock-in fall pricing – for drying corn on the farm.
Prebuy winter propane – Lock in a fixed price from Sept 15 – Apr 15 and avoid market movements in the winter.

Order Propane

There are two options for ordering propane.

We usually can deliver propane within four working days. However, during heating season it may take longer depending on weather conditions, delivery volume, etc.

(TIP: Order when your tank float gauge reads between 25% and 35% to allow us time to make your delivery.)

Minimum Delivery Requirements

To promote delivery efficiency and keep our propane price as low as possible, we require minimum delivery amounts:

500 gallons in a 1,000 gallon tank
275 gallons in a 500 gallon tank
Complete fills at 35% or less for 325, 250, and 124 gallon tanks

Propane Payment Options

E-Commerce Online Account

With a Federated Bill Pay Account You Can Pay Your Invoices On-Line Using Your Credit/Debit Card or Your Checking Account.

You can manage your Federated account such as viewing invoices, credits, payment history, recent purchases, contracts, propane tank and grain information, along with paperless statements if you would like.

Auto/Monthly Payment Options

Great Option for our customers, program with flexible payments.

How Do Auto/Monthly Payments Work
Auto payments simply accumulate credit on your account until you need a delivery. Federated will apply your accumulated credit towards your delivery. If your credit does not meet your delivery amount you only pay the difference at the time of the delivery! Auto payments can be made when you want for as much as you want. Auto Payments can be done with your credit/debit card or checking/savings account.

Auto payments can be mailed in or deducted directly from your checking account or savings account.

ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

Propane Pre-Buy Plan

Each summer we offer seasonal price protection through our Pre-Buy program.

This Program Allows You to Pre-Purchase Your Propane for The Following Heating Season at A Fixed Price Per Gallon.

We, in turn, Pre-Buy the aggregate needs of our customers through our suppliers who store this product in underground caverns until needed.

At the end of our Pre-Buy program, any of your unused gallons will be converted back to a credit balance on your account so you will never lose your investment. Our strong financial standing secures your investment in us adding additional value to doing business with your local cooperative. Our scheduled delivery program works well in conjunction with our Pre-Buy program taking the concern about having to order propane or pay a propane bill for the heating season.

POWER OF ONE PROGRAM

For an even more attractive rate, utilize our new Power of One program. When you buy all your inputs from Federated Co-ops, you may qualify for a rate as low as 5%.

After Hours Service

If you need emergency after hours service, please call your local office who will have a recorded message indicating the contact number of whom you may contact. The minimum fee for after-hours service is $250. All fees and charges need to be paid to our employee at the time this service is provided.

PROPANE SERVICES

Leak Testing

We must leak test the propane system whenever there is an interruption of service such in an out of gas situation, changing a gas appliance, changing a regulator, etc. We provide one free leak test per customer. You may be charged for additional leak tests beyond the one free test. For additional information on leak testing, click here.

Out of Gas

Letting your propane tank run empty can be a dangerous situation. The tank may have run out because of a gas leak. The pressure change also stresses the pipe joint compound. The service valve on the supply tank should be turned off if the tank runs empty. Care must be used when the appliances are placed back into service. We will not deliver to an out of gas situation unless the homeowner is present to allow us to perform a leak test, inspect the appliances, and put the appliances back into service. There may be additional charges for this service. Should this situation occur often, we may discontinue service to your site.

Propane Tank Program

We lease and install 250, 500, and 1,000 gallon sized tank systems for residential and commercial customers.
Tanks are available for lease at affordable prices and sized based on your estimated annual consumption.
Underground and larger above ground tanks are available for special circumstances.
Commercial refueled tanks available.

Tank Monitor Program

Electronically reads the propane level in your tank
Tank readings are digitally transmitted by phone to Federated Co-ops, Inc.
Tank readings also sent up to 3 e-mail recipients
Alert sent to e-mailed to recipients if tank level or interior home temperature set-points are crossed
