Less Stress, More Yield

“Yield is the measuring stick for everything,” said Rob Johnson, sales rep for Rosen’s. And when it comes time to choose crop inputs, yield-boosting choices should be at the top of the list.

Environmental stress is the primary yield buster and Rosen’s YieldBurst® technology is designed to mitigate stress factors that can hinder healthy growth (e.g., drought, excessive moisture, extreme temperatures, and pesticide applications).

YieldBurst products are convenient packages created specifically for the unique DNA of a plant. Johnson described how YieldBurst technologies can affect how plants metabolize a herbicide (for example) and help the plants “heal” from the stress of a herbicide application.

Growers have the “opportunity” to reduce the effect of stress with a “handful of products that are simple and convenient,” according to Kevin Carlson, Federated’s agronomy sales manager.

Adjuvants have always been required when applying herbicides, fungicides, foliar fertilizer, or other nutritional products. Adjuvants don’t typically contribute to yield; however, YieldBurst products actually do.

Lowering the cost of production is critical when commodity prices are low and input costs are high. “You’re already using an adjuvant,” said Johnson, so the question is, “which one?”

“The cost of production can go down if we can get more bushels out,” said Johnson. A yield-boosting adjuvant choice can bring overall costs down.
