Discovery Plot Soybean Data Ready for Review

Federated’s 2025 Soybean Discovery Plot results are in, and the season finished well overall, and the plots provided good information on seed products. Follow these links to see the data:

Kevin Carlson, Federated’s agronomy sales manager, said, “Some of the same varieties that performed well last year again performed at a high level this year. For example,  Croplan 1525E, which is in the 1.5 maturity group, is still a really good choice.”  

Additionally, the Winfield® Answer Plot® data will soon be available and it “provides another layer” of rich data for soybean trait performance, Carlson noted.
 
The soybean harvest is essentially complete and it’s early in the soybean seed decision making process, but it’s important to carefully review the plot data with your Federated Agronomist before making your final soybean seed choices.
 
It’s also extremely important, Carlson said, to consider your disease pressure and challenges. The fight against the recurring diseases – white mold, soybean cyst nematodes, sudden death, and brown stem rot – begins with variety selection. 
 
“You have to pick the top performers,” said Carlson, but you have to choose the top performers that address your needs. “The highest yielding variety in the plot may not cover your disease,” he emphasized.
