Annihilate and Rancor for the Fight Against Waterhemp

Two ways to fight waterhemp
Waterhemp is a tenacious and resistant problem that continues to plague your soybeans, but Annihilate™ Herbicide is an effective option to consider.

Annihilate, by Tenkoz, Inc., is a liquid premix that combines two active ingredients to control tough, resistant weeds like waterhemp.

“Waterhemp continues to be our number one problem for soybean,” said Kevin Carlson, Federated’s agronomy sales manager. “It can germinate all season long, and good residual control is particularly problematic. That’s why we’re bringing Annihilate forward. It’s paramount for resistant weeds like waterhemp, giant ragweed, and common ragweed.”

“Annihilate brings premium weed control, with a lot of flexibility,” said Jim Harriman of Rosen’s. “It’s the longest residual we see, which is important as we continue to plant earlier and earlier. It’s a long time to keep these fields clean.”

Annihilate is a proven premix consisting of Sulfentrazone and Pyroxasulfone, two highly effective active ingredients that combine for two modes of action: seedling shoot growth inhibitor + PPO inhibitor.
With flexible applications and low use rates, Annihilate provides reliable protection for soybeans, but we recommend using it in conjunction with a third mode of action, Rancor™ 4F.  Rancor is a tank mix that uses metribuzin, a group 5 herbicide, to fight against many of the toughest herbicide-tolerant weeds and adds activity on ragweeds.

“We used Rancor and Annihilate last year on conventional beans, and it worked great,” said Carlson.

As with any herbicide or pesticide, read and follow all label instructions when mixing and applying. If you have any questions or concerns about your herbicide choices, call your Federated Agronomist today for more information.
